Janine Thomas

Janine Thomas received her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (Magna Cum Laude) from Millersville University. She currently holds the position of Principal Clarinet with the Harrisburg, Lancaster and Reading Symphonies. An extremely versatile musician, she also performs regularly in the Fulton Theater pit orchestra on clarinet, bass clarinet, piccolo, flute, alto flute, soprano sax, alto sax, and tenor sax. She maintains a private teaching studio at Penn Square Music Conservatory. Ms. Thomas has performed concertos by Mozart and Finzi in Reading, Debussy’s Première Rapsodie and the Copland Clarinet Concerto in Harrisburg, and the Artie Shaw Concerto, Mendelssohn’s Concert Piece No. 1, Strauss’s Duet Concertino, and Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Winds in Lancaster. In addition, she has performed Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro with the Ying Quartet on the Market Square Concerts Series in Harrisburg. 

On the Stuart and Friends Series she has performed Schubert’s The Shepherd on the Rock and Mozart’s Quintet for Piano and Winds. 

A cat lover, Janine has nine cats and feeds at least thirty more on a nightly basis!

Amy Christmas

Amy Christmas received a Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from Temple University and a Master of Arts degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Drexel University. Amy is an active freelance clarinetist. She is a member of Lancaster Symphony Orchestra and Pennsylvania Philharmonic. She was also a member of Dark Horse Orchestra, a cross-genre studio recording orchestra. Amy appears regularly with various ensembles and chamber music groups in the Lancaster and Philadelphia regions. She has participated in the FAME Festival, Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, and Endless Mountain Music Festival. Her primary instructors were Anthony Gigliotti and Janine Thomas. Amy has extensive experience teaching traditional as well as adapted music lessons, and she is certified to teach an internationally recognized early childhood music program for children and their caregivers. Amy has been a Board Certified Music Therapist for the past 15 years. She has worked in healthcare and educational settings with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Currently, she provides school-based therapy for students.
